EDH Help: Essential Red Cards

Here are some red cards to really consider for your EDH:

Blood Moon
Blood Moon
With the prevalence of nonbasic lands throughout EDH, this card can easily make people very sad very quickly.

Apocalypse
Apocalypse
HYPER-BOOM! That is all.

Shattering Spree
Shattering Spree
Similar to my comments on Blood Moon above, this card make use to the increased prevalence of artifacts in EDH to make people sad. Since it can be pumped depending on the need, it can either be a mass wave of sadness or a targeted jet of sad aimed at one particular person.

Kaervek's Torch
Kaervek's Torch
If you're going to run a Blaze-like effect in EDH (not the greatest idea), run either this or Banefire. Banefire can't be countered, but it can be Redirected. This isn't uncounterable, but it is harder to redirect or counter. Most counter decks will leave only enough mana to counter a spell, not enough to pay extra in order to do that.

Jokulhaups
Jokulhaups
Again, BOOM!

Thieves' Auction
Thieves' Auction
This is red's chaos perfectly represented. Someone's going to be sad at the end of this and that's what makes it great. I love this card in EDH because there's a lot of stuff to go around and the end result is an oddly balanced board.
